Hello my name is Tyler. I’m currently a Computer Science major at Northern Kentucky University and hope to become a Software Developer. I’m really interested in Functional Programming and writing correct, and maintainable programs.

My main programming experience have been with Python, C/C++, Bash, and Java, but in my own time I’m trying to learn Haskell.

I’m also an avid Linux user of over half a decade and have a lot of experience with system configuration and deploying services. I currently use NixOS, which is a distro that’s declaratively configured and allows for reproducible builds across different devices.

Outside of tech, I have a lot of other interests. I love reading about science, history, philosophy, mathematics, essentially everything. I also really enjoy sci-fi (specifically Octavia Butler and Stanisław Lem) and am trying to get around to all of “The Classics” (e.g. Dracula, Frankenstein, Gatsby, Dorian Gray). I also love movies and tv shows. I love both highbrow Christopher Nolan-esque films and most things Disney-Pixar releases.

The Purpose of this ePortfolio is to try to give an accurate picture of me as a whole person in all my interdisciplinary complexity. Most avenus of personal expression don’t allow me to be all that I am. I usually only get to be a math or a computer science person and I believe the varied content here better expresses who I am, what drives me, and who I want to be than other depictions or descriptions of me.
